Trade talks are always going to be attached to superstars who are not getting the results many are expecting, and now LaMarcus Aldridge is feeling the pressure.

Many believed the San Antonio Spurs had a winning recipe when they picked up Aldridge to partner with Tim Duncan in Texas. Unfortunately, that has not worked out and now there are rumors that Aldridge is not happy with his current situation.

As a result, there have been talks linking him to a move away from San Antonio and possibly a trade that would send him to the Eastern Conference. The team linked to the Spurs is the Atlanta Hawks.

According to the news, the Hawks are pitching their own All-Star power forward Paul Millsap in the trade, along with a draft pick.

This may be a very interesting deal for the Spurs as they can have a chance to pick up a good player in the draft while also having a dependable replacement in Millsap, but that might not do anything in terms of them challenging teams like the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Aldridge averaged 18.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game last year with the Spurs, while Millsap has career averages of 13.9 points and 7.4 rebounds a game.

Furthermore, Aldridge has more skills in the offensive end that could challenge defenders, with Millsap the more limited of the two.

The advantage in playing style goes to Aldridge as he has similar fundamental skills with Duncan. This means that he can go on playing at an elite level for a longer period.

For Millsap, he has to rely on power and brute force to get rebounds and get his points underneath. That may fade in time given that the two are the same age.

It should be interesting how the Spurs handle this situation with Aldridge and whether they can work it out and stay together.
