Last week, word got out that Miami Heat guard Goran Dragic was open to being traded, but before teams start calling the Heat for their starting point guard, Dragic wanted to set the record straight and say that he wants to stay in Miami.

In an interview with the Sun Sentinel, Dragic said he does not know how the rumor started, and he denied that he wanted to leave the Heat. "I feel comfortable in Miami. I feel great. We have a young team. I really got connected with the young guys, and I feel young, too, with them, and I would like to stay here," he stated.

Basketball fans would assume that he wants to play for a winning team since he's in his prime right now, but Dragic says that he's comfortable with the direction of the team right now, so there's no reason to leave.

"Maybe a lot of people, they cannot see what is going on inside, but I'm part of this every day. So I can see how the team is progressing and how everybody is working hard. And that's why I see a future in this thing," he explained.

Dragic may say he's happy with the situation in Miami, but that's not going to stop the rumors from circulating. In fact, The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor believes that he'll be a perfect fit in the system Fred Hoiberg is running in Chicago. If the Heat moves him to the Bulls, that means Dragic will be reunited with Dwayne Wade.

O'Connor also notes that a Dragic–Jimmy Butler pairing is worth a shot because the Bulls can then have enough cap space to sign a top free agent in 2018. Of course, they will have to be competitive if they want to lure a good player to Chicago. Nobody wants to play for a losing team.

So, will Dragic remain with the Heat past the trade deadline?
