'Nashville' Season 3 Spoilers: How Long Can Deacon Keep the 'Secret'?
You need to get your tissues ready when "Nashville" Season 3 returns on Feb. 4 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC. The new promo video reveals that Rayna (Connie Britton) and Deacon (Charles Esten) are going to have a drama-filled confrontation.
We remember Rayna calling off her wedding with Luke (Will Chase) as she has finally decided to be with Deacon instead. Deacon, on the other hand, doesn't seem ready for a new relationship.
The promo video shows flashbacks of Rayna and Deacon being together in Season 1while Rayna says, "I've loved you since the first time I ever laid eyes on you."
On the other hand, Deacon is shown in the scene saying, "Taking care of me? I want to take care of her, but I can't because I'm sick!"
We also remember Deacon finally dealing with the fact that he has liver cancer during the mid-season finale. Although we all know how Deacon feels for Rayna, his condition is the reason why he will keep pushing her away.
Dee Johnson, showrunner for "Nashville," reveals that although Deacon will be trying to keep his condition a secret, he won't be able to do it for long.
"He's gonna try though. Because I think that he feels that it's almost karmic in a weird way, that it's a result of some stuff he did at an earlier time in his life. Whether or not that's true, he certainly believes it. And the last thing he wants is any kind of a pity party."
As to how long Deacon can keep his secret, we all have to find out when "Nashville" returns on Feb. 4.
