'Naruto Shippuden' episode 483 spoilers: Episode highlights two of Naruto's teachers in their formative years
Battle-worn ninjas Jiraiya and Kakashi will not be looking so old when "Naruto Shippuden" continues its "Boyhood Arc" next week. Aptly titled "Jiraiya—Kakashi," episode 483 will be highlighting the younger years of these two great ninjas who have both had a hand in molding the titular character Naruto into the boy, the man and the Hokage that he will eventually become.
The first half of the episode will be focusing on a younger Jiraiya and his interactions with his fellow Team HIruzen members, Tsunade and Orochimaru. The three of them will eventually be known and hailed as the Sannin, the three greatest ninjas of their time, but will also eventually be torn apart by their conflicting views and perspectives in life.
Fans of the long-running series may already know which path these three end up taking, but before they were renowned for their achievements and failures, Team Hiruzen was just a group of young ninjas trying to learn the ropes. Jiraiya in particular is shown to be his familiar light-hearted, gregarious self, who is not at all afraid to share his dreams and ask his seemingly reluctant teammates to talk about theirs.
It will be interesting to see whether his eccentricities, general irreverence and widely renowned perversion are already present at this point in his life, or will these characteristics' origins be revealed in this episode? Has he always been the perverted hermit who took great pains to impart his knowledge to the stubborn Naruto, or has he picked these characteristics up from someone else as he grew older?
The second half of the episode focuses on Kakashi, who will eventually grow up to be the leader of Naruto's Team 7 and possesses eccentricities of his own. Kakashi's interactions with his fellow Team Minato members Obito and Rin will be featured, and like the Sannin, Kakashi's team will also face its own devastating downfall in the future.
But before all that, the "Boyhood Arc" aims to depict happier times in these remarkable ninjas' lives, and thus add to the depths of their characters, while also serving as a necessary build-up for future chapters in the long-running "Naruto" franchise.
"Naruto Shippuden" episode 483 airs on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. JST on Tokyo TV.
