The remake of "Mulan" has been paraded with rumors of not including the original animated film's songs, which the director has cleared. Meanwhile, speculations of white-washing "Mulan" came from a preview of the upcoming live remake's specifications script.

The director of "The Zookeeper's Wife" and "North Country" has been tagged to spearhead the "Mulan" remake, which is set to hit theaters in November 2018, Yahoo! has confirmed.

Although casting is still ongoing for the film, Caro intends to film most of its scenes in China. "Nothing is as good as a real landscape, and China has extraordinary landscapes. I'm really looking forward to that, but to also bring visual effects and magic to that [landscape] makes it a great challenge," the director explained.

Unfortunately, rumors spread that the live-action remake of "Mulan" will not include the original animated film's iconic songs such as "I'll Make a Man Out of You" and "Reflection." This rooted from the director's interview with Moviefone, confirming that there are currently no songs attached to the "Mulan" remake.

However, the director cleared this during an interview with the LA Times, saying, "We've never talked about songs, and no decision has been made."

Caro also added that she has not yet started working on the remake and that all decisions made are still tentative. However, she still finds it exciting that so many people are passionate about the "Mulan" remake.

Meanwhile, another issue has loomed over the "Mulan" remake, spreading that the film will be white-washed by placing a white male lead.

However, Vanity Fair has confirmed that the male lead role remains to be a Chinese character for the remake and that the spec script was merely a "jumping-off point for a new take" on the film.

The source also added that the "Mulan" remake is still centered on the titular character.

The "Mulan" remake is slated to premiere on Nov. 2, 2018.
