The developer of "Minecraft," Mojang, recently announced that a major update, referred to as The Ender, awaits players across several platforms as the major patch will arrive to the Pocket and Windows 10 editions as well as to Samsung's brand of mobile virtual reality (VR) headset, Gear VR.

"Minecraft" is one of the most played and popular sandbox video game that was originally released for Windows PC. Years later into the game's development, it was ported to mobile devices and was called "Pocket Edition."

In an official statement last week, Mojang teased, "Our next update is packed with features but most significant is probably The End and its iconic inhabitant — The Ender Dragon. Though you can carry on playing after defeating the misunderstood beast, for many, taking it down is the ultimate goal in Minecraft. Something to aim for and achieve after hours of play. A tangible end-game for Survival players."

Mojang also announced that the upcoming Apple TV Edition will be released with all the contents of The Ender update. It is also revealed that Mojang will increase the world height of Minecraft by 265 blocks.

Along with the mentioned update contents is a "snazzy" new wings, or referred to in the game as Elytra. Mojang teased about the new Elytra: "They'll give you a whole new perspective on your Minecraft worlds as you float around free as a bird. A bird who can't fly upwards but is super good at gliding."

Last month, Mojang also released the Boss Update that featured the Elder Guardian and a whole lot more game elements such as rideable chickens, exploding pigs while models, textures, and behaviors can be switched.

Meanwhile, Mojang did not give any hint as to when The Ender update will go live; however, reports note that it will possibly arrive by the end of 2016. Still, "Minecraft Pocket Edition" players on Android can now test the beta version of The Ender update and tell Mojang their suggestions on how to improve the update.
