Michael Schumacher health condition 2017: Still no updates on the F1 racer's condition; Formula One team principal says he still visits Schumacher
There is still no update whether Michael Schumacher has improved from his injuries that resulted from his ski accident over three years ago. Meanwhile, Formula One team principal Ross Brawn shared that they still visit Schumacher in his home.
In 2013, Schumacher went for a holiday in the French Alps with his friends and family. On Dec. 29 of that year, Schumacher had a skiing accident and suffered a severe head injury.
Schumacher was immediately brought to Grenoble Hospital and went through an "immediate neurosurgical intervention" and two surgeries, which later resulted in him having a coma.
Since the accident, updates regarding Schumacher's condition have been scarce because the family wants to keep his situation private.
However, according to Mirror, pictures of Schumacher in his home in Geneva, Switzerland have spread all over European media outlets since the accident. Police are already investigating how the photos were taken and sold through local outlets.
The latest update received from Schumacher's manager, Sabine Kehm, was last December. Kehm said, "Michael's health is not a public issue, and so we will continue to make no comment in that regard."
In an interview with The Guardian last November, Brawn shared that he still visits Schumacher from time to time.
"We go see him and hope and pray that one day he will make a recovery. ... The family are conducting his convalescence in private and I need to respect that. So I don't want to comment on his condition beyond saying we're extremely hopeful we'll see Michael as we knew him at some point in the future," Brawn explained.
Brawn was previously misquoted that Schumacher had been improving from his condition, but Brawn said that it was not really what he meant.
When the family sued a German publication for releasing false details regarding Schumacher's condition, they were forced to reveal the F1 racer's real state.
According to Telegraph, the lawyer representing Schumacher, Felix Damm, testified to the court that Schumacher cannot walk and that he cannot even stand without being aided by his therapists.
There have been no recent updates regarding Michael Schumacher's condition.
