'Mass Effect: Andromeda' release date, news: Xbox Project Scorpio release on the table?
"Mass Effect: Andromeda" might eventually find its way to the Xbox Project Scorpio, Microsoft's next-generation console and its answer to the PlayStation 4 Pro.
Mac Walters, the highly anticipated space shooter's creative director, revealed in an interview for Official Xbox Magazine (picked up by Games Radar) their plans with regard to the platform that can support "Mass Effect: Andromeda."
"Given our spring release date, I'm not sure exactly what we're going to be able to support at that time, but we have a strong service plan for ME that will continue past our release date," he said.
"If we do a Game of the Year edition, or a future edition or something like that, that's something we'd definitely consider looking at, for sure," Walters went on to say.
Interestingly, "Mass Effect" producer Michael Gamble appears to have shot down the possibility of bringing "Mass Effect: Andromeda" to the Xbox Project Scorpio with his latest comments.
Last month when he spoke to Stevivor, he said that Bioware "absolutely no plans right now" in bringing the game to the Xbox Project Scorpio, although he did not completely close their doors on the possibility.
"You never know what'll happen after that," Gamble said, also revealing that a Nintendo Switch release for "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is also not planned during that time.
However, the comments by Walters suggest that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" could end up on the Xbox Project Scorpio eventually although it is too early to make sure at the moment. The powerful new console is slated for release holidays this year.
In related news, Tweak Town reports that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will support both the HDR10 and Dolby Vision, which should make for an excellent high-dynamic-range (HDR) video game experience.
The game's HDR10 support should allow players to pair it with NVIDIA's newly unveiled HDR-capable 4K 144Hz G-Sync displays.
"Mass Effect Andromeda" is currently lined up to be released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 (PS4) and PC on March 21.
