It now appears that "Mass Effect: Andromeda," the upcoming role-playing third-person shooter video game, will be using an all-new animation system.

This bit of info about the "Mass Effect: Andromeda" animations was leaked by an insider on the "Mass Effect" Community thread on NeoGAF. According to Gamespresso, user shinobi602, the insider, has a history of accurate leaks.

Responding to comments criticizing the "Mass Effect" animations on the NeoGAF thread, shinobi602 wrote, "It's ironic that many are mocking the animations in the game when it's all entirely from the ground up."

According to the insider, BioWare used a brand new locomotion system for "Mass Effect: Andromeda" that is similar to what Ubisoft is trying to do for its upcoming hack and slash video game "For Honor." The "Mass Effect" fan also said that the all-new locomotion system is the one "with locked feet and natural gesturing system."

The insider wrote that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" players will see this brand new locomotion technology in how Ryder, one of the game's two playable characters, walks and transitions into various speeds.

"Animations look much better than any previous BioWare game," shinobi602 emphasized.

In addition, the "Mass Effect: Andromeda" insider revealed that some of the animations for the game were created using motion-capture technology.

Earlier this month, BioWare creative director Mac Walters revealed to PlayStation Access that the two playable characters in "Mass Effect: Andromeda" are brother and sister.

"And they both exist in the game world at the same time," he said. "So if you're playing as the female Ryder, your brother is out there somewhere in the universe," he added.

"Another fun little tidbit is the character we saw two E3s ago, in the N7 [armour], is actually their father," he added.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is scheduled to be released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2017.
