"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" is one of the most awaited games for next year. In an interview with IGN, Marvel Games executive producer Mike Jones discussed their plans about the fighting game.

"What we're trying to do is make the game more elegant and simplified but still as complex and hardcore as it's ever been. But we do want it to be approachable," he explained.

"Say if you just love these characters and you want to hear a great story and see some great actions — it's completely approachable in terms of how the systems work and in terms of how the controls work, but that depth is there if you want to find," he went on to say.

Associate producer Peter Rosas also explained that "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" is much more accessible and simpler, as players will not be burdened by making all these big decisions such as choosing a character assist as they were required to in previous iterations of the game.

In "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite," players will only need to pick the two characters they would like to fight as and then the Infinity Stone they would like to use, and they are good to go.

In the previous games, Rosas said that the characters were chosen as assists by players not because they were liked, but because of their functionality.

Replacing the assist aspect of previous games with Infinity Stones in "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" helped in modifying teams in new and exciting ways as well.

The stone basically acts as the third character, but other than that, it also ultimately allows "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" players to "create their own identity."

The Infinity Stones also differentiates a team who have the same characters, making for greater depth and customization. It can buff the players in various ways, such as boosting their strength, compensating for their weaknesses and adding something else that's lacking.

"We're looking at attack, mobility, vitality, space control — all those things where we're adding tool to a character's toolset that they might not have otherwise," Rosas explained.

"Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" will be released in 2017 on the PlayStation 4.
