MacBook Pro 2016 specs rumors: Latest device has OLED display, thinner design, no headphone jack
Apple's MacBook Pro 2016 will have an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display, a touch ID and a new design if the rumors are true.
Apple announced a handful of things when the company revealed its latest smartphone, the iPhone 7. However, the tech giant has yet to announce a number of updates for their other product lines such as the MacBook Pro. The lack of information is turning people anxious. But the latest rumors about the device might get people excited for all the wrong reasons.
If the rumors are true, the next MacBook Pro will reportedly be produced in two size variants: a 13-inch and a 15-inch unit. Both variants will host Intel's Kaby Lake Chips. But other rumors suggest that the 15-inch laptop could have the AMD Polaris GPU chip instead.
The device will be having an OLED display, which will replace the function keys that are conventionally found on the topmost part of the keyboard. The OLED bar will feature various shortcuts to make the task at hand easier. The function keys will reportedly change depending on the current task.
Furthermore, the MacBook Pro 2016 will be thinner than its preceding units. It will be made out of a thin aluminum shell. Its rumored design has made users worried about the 3.5-millimeter jack. Since Apple removed the headphone jack in the latest iPhone, many believe that the change will be applied to other upcoming gadgets.
Apple is expected to unveil the newest MacBook Pro in the following weeks. According to reports, the tech giant will be revealing the laptop on Thursday Oct. 27.
The tech giant has yet to confirm the latest reports about the MacBook Pro device. Hence, Apple junkies should treat the latest reports as speculation until proven otherwise.
