Los Angeles Clippers news: Griffin addresses fans with letter

Last year was certainly a roller coaster ride for Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers but it appears that he is owning up to it and promising something good for his supporters.

After a promising start to the year, Griffin's 2015-16 season ended with a suspension and an injury following an incident involving former assistant equipment manager Matias Testi.

Griffin reported punched Testi in the face and was sequentially suspended for four games. However, he would spend more time away from the game because he broke his right hand.

His pockets took a big hit as well after being fined with more than $800,000 for the incident.

It was unfortunate because Griffin was averaging 21.4 points per game while grabbing 8.4 rebounds per night in a year. Many thought he could even have been eligible for the Most Valuable Player title if he continued.

However, Griffin released an article in the Player's Tribune, and the gist of it is centered on him being sorry for what happened in the previous campaign.

He seemed pretty regretful of what happened, saying: "I am truly sorry. What happened in Toronto was 100% my fault. I messed up.

"There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about it. And I don't mean that in some cliched 'not a day goes by' way.

"I genuinely think about it every single day, and I just feel like I let down the fans who have been riding with us since the beginning."

In the article, he also revealed that he plans to make it up to his fans by performing well on the floor.

Without any distractions and problems, Griffin is expected to have a breakout season in the 2016-17 campaign as the Clippers remain one of the big contenders of the Western Conference.

It should be a very interesting season for Griffin.
