Longmire Season 4 Canceled or Renewed? Production Team 'Shopping' for New Network
A&E has cancelled drama series Longmire but it looks like fans will be seeing more of the show elsewhere. The producers are still currently shopping for a network but no official announcement has been released yet.
A&E's statement regarding their dropping the series was brief: "We would like to thank the phenomenal cast, crew and producers of 'Longmire,' along with our partners at Warner Horizon, for their tireless work on three seasons of quality dramatic storytelling. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together."
Warner Horizon, the production team behind the drama series, is not worried at all. This isn't surprising because the show is one of the network's "most-watched drama series of all time", according to Screen Rant.
Screen Rant adds that the cancellation could be because of the network's cutting down on "external speeding". We all know that Longmire is managed by an external production team while most of the network's shows are produced by the A+E Studios.
Screen Rant further explains that it could also be that the network has chosen to focus more on reality TV over scripted shows. Basing on the ratings of Longmire, which has been far from poor, it is very likely that the show will soon find another home. If it does not find a network before the end of the year, it is likely that their comeback will happen early 2015.
