'Lethal Weapon' season 1 episode 4 spoilers: Murtaugh and Riggs go to counseling; Roger Jr. gets in trouble

Martin Riggs (Clayne Crawford) may not have many friends in Los Angeles, but his partner Roger Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) could come close. And after he took a cattle prod for the older man in last week's episode, their professional and personal relationship could only get better from here.

However, the preview for this week's episode begs to differ. Just because Murtaugh trusts Riggs enough to let his partner into his home and partake of his bacon, mustard and the occasional baby food does not mean he can't call Riggs a sand hobo and punch him in the face every once in a while.

The fourth episode of FOX's police procedural comedy series, "Lethal Weapon" will find mismatched police partners, Murtaugh and Riggs taking mandatory counseling for their erratic and impulsive behaviors since they began working together.

When police psychologist Dr. Maureen Cahill (Jordana Brewster) asked them if there was anything they could do to nurture their partnership, Riggs turns to Murtaugh and praises his bald head, while Murtaugh lauds Riggs' mustache for almost looking "not ridiculous."

According to the official synopsis for the fourth episode titled "There Goes the Neighborhood," the pair will investigate a string of burglaries after one happens in Murtaughs' neighborhood and another inadvertently leads to a casualty.

But they will not at first agree to take the case on, as shown in this sneak peek posted on Spoilers Guide, wherein Murtaugh calls Riggs a sand hobo who has seals for neighbors after Riggs refused to work on what he initially thought was a boring case.

Meanwhile, Murtaugh's son, Roger Jr. (Dante Brown), gets himself involved in a complication of his own after he reconnects with an old friend who may turn out to be bad news. Det. Cruz (Richard Cabral), whom they met at the LAPD Gang Unit last episode, has officially transferred to the homicide unit to lend a hand Murtaugh and Riggs.

"Lethal Weapon" season 1 episode 4 airs on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX. Episodes of the series can also be streamed anytime on FOX Now.
