'Lego Dimensions: Sonic the Hedgehog' release date and news: Sonic interacts with Doctor Who and Newt from 'Fantastic Beasts'

"Lego Dimensions" is looking to include almost every franchise that can be adapted into Lego form into one game, and the latest addition to the game brings the world of "Sonic the Hedgehog" to Lego.

The new trailer for the level pack includes the Lego version of Sonic and his ragtag group of friends — all in Lego form. They must band together and beat classic villain Dr. Eggman as he tries to gain access to all the different Lego universes.

The trailer also includes some classic levels from the original "Sonic the Hedgehog" games, meaning that Sonic will be running around loops collecting coins once more. The trailer also has Sonic interacting with different characters from the Lego universes like the Doctor from "Doctor Who" and most recently, the Lego version of Newt Scamander from "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

Aside from including new levels and characters, the level pack also has some new vehicles that Sonic and friends can use to drive around, whether it be on land or in the air.

Funnily enough, the clip also begins with what looks to be the Death Star from "Star Wars" shaped into Dr. Eggman's head. What's more, other characters from different franchises make cameos in the trailer, like Jake the Dog from "Adventure Time" and Chell from the "Portal" games.

Some fans are excited for the expansion, and they even say that the game looks better than the most recent "Sonic" games that have come out. What's also interesting is that the level is not considered to be an actual "Sonic the Hedgehog" game at all, just an expansion from the world of "Lego Dimensions."

The "Sonic the Hedgehog" level pack for "Lego Dimensions" is now available for purchase.
