The showrunners of "Legends of Tomorrow" are not shy in admitting that they're giving the series a major overhaul. This is being done in an effort to course-correct the challenges they faced during the time-travel superhero show's maiden season.

Executive producer Phil Klemmer implied that bypassing a pilot episode made them step into a moving train and they "didn't know where it was headed." He said everyone behind the series learned something from the maiden season, which is, taking a step back to think about the ramifications of each decision made.

According to Comic Book Resources, the showrunners made wise use of the season break to take the show apart and rebuild it "piece by piece." Apparently, they are being more careful in approaching "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2.

"A lot of the story of season 1 felt like they were compulsory because we put certain story elements into motion," Klemmer said. "You killed Rip's family, you've got to avenge that. We said that Vandal Savage is going to ruin the world, we've got to stop that. Oh, we revealed who our bad guy is, that doesn't leave much room for mystery."

Co-executive producer Marc Guggenheim aptly refers to the first season as a "learning curve ... [that] wasn't a curve [but] a straight line up." He likewise said they would use the destruction of the Oculus and the Time Masters in episode 15 of the first season as a kick-off point for the sophomore season.

Meanwhile, Caity Lotz, who plays Sara Lance/White Canary in "Legends of Tomorrow" granted an interview with TV Overmind, and there, she talked about how her character would continue to mourn the loss of her sister, "Arrow's" Laurel (Katie Cassidy).

"I know Sara is not over it," the actress said. "I don't think she's accepted it and moved on. It's something that she gonna be still dealing with in the second season."

It has been teased in a recent report that Sara would exact revenge for the death of her sister. However, there is a possibility that the sisters would meet again, especially with shows in the Arrowverse constantly exploring multiverses and time travel. It would be remembered that after Laurel died, she still appeared in an episode of "The Flash" as Black Siren, Laurel's evil doppelganger from Earth-2.

It would be interesting to see if Sara, as White Canary, would go toe-to-toe with Laurel, as Black Siren in season 2 of "Legends of Tomorrow."

"Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 premieres Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
