The Legends are stuck in the past on the upcoming episode of "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2.

Titled "Land of the Lost," next week's episode will see the heroes try to bring the "good" Rip (Arthur Darvill) back. According to the official synopsis, Rip is forced to crash the Waverider, leaving the Legends stuck seventy million years in the past. Ray (Brandon Routh) must recover an important part of the ship with the help of Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Nate (Nick Zano). Their new mission brings Nate and Amaya closer, but their growing relationship could lead to serious consequences.

Desperate to bring the old Rip back, Rory (Dominic Purcell) suggests to the team that they enter Rip's mind. Jax (Franz Drameh) and Sara (Caity Lotz) get a glimpse of Rip's subconscious, and they both learn that things are not pleasant inside and that they must fight against evil versions of themselves.

While Rip has already returned to the Waverider, that doesn't necessarily mean the team can truly bring back their old friend. Lotz recently caught up with Entertainment Weekly, and she revealed that even if the Legends could get Rip back to his old self, they may never be able to completely trust him like before.

"In my head, Rip's done a lot of things to Sara that she didn't like and didn't appreciate," the actress said. "She has a love-hate with him relationship already. She loves him, but she hates him and that's kind of a hard thing to forgive. Sara's not a saint," she went on to say.

In other news, the show's upcoming finale will feature J.R.R. Tolkien. Jack Turner has been tapped to portray the famed author, as tweeted by executive producer Marc Guggenheim. Further details about the said episode are not yet revealed, but it is scheduled to air on April 4.

The second season of "Legends of Tomorrow" airs every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
