'Left 4 Dead 2' mods updates and news: Axe from 'The Shining' and machete from 'Friday the 13th' added in mod update
Although it has been years since Valve Corporation launched the second installment for their first-person shooter video game franchise "Left 4 Dead," developers are still giving gamers new content every now and then. Recently, two new weapons have been added to the franchise.
Just in time for "Left 4 Dead 2's" seventh anniversary, developers are treating gamers with news mods which contain weapons used by infamous Hollywood baddies.
In the spirit of Halloween, longtime modder Yogensia recently added the iconic axe in "The Shining" to the game. Yogensia also added Jason Voorhees' machete in "Friday the 13th." The modder had a little help from Renato Carvalho, Maksymilian Genewicz and Rafael De Jongh in creating and perfecting the details of the latest weaponry.
Although the modder only added two weapons for "Left 4 Dead 2," Yogensia expressed his desire to develop more mods.
Despite having only two weapon mods for "Left 4 Dead 2" this Halloween, Yogensia expressed his desire to create more mods in the furture. "I still enjoy the idea of adding new [mods]. It's all about finding something that piques my interest and matches my skills, then finding free time to work on it," Yogensia said to PC Gamer.
Furthermore, the modder is reportedly working on another weapon for the franchise. Yogensia is planning to recreate Negan's customized baseball bat named Lucille from the hit TV series, "The Walking Dead."
Yogensia is a 3D props and weapons creator for video games. The artist is responsible for creating over 40 different weapons for the "Left 4 Dead" franchise since 2012. The modder has recreated infamous weapons in Hollywood history, which include Harley Quinn's Suicide Squad baseball bat, a candy cane shotgun, etc.
For the uninitiated, "Left 4 Dead 2" was launched in November of 2009 for Xbox 360 consoles and for PCs which are powered by Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.
