JK Simmons has always been known to comic book movie fans as Spider-man's mean boss, JJ Jameson, but he has since moved on to the DC side. Now, he is playing Gotham's favorite police commissioner, Jim Gordon. He has reportedly finished shooting his role in the upcoming movie, "Justice League," and he has nothing but fond things to say about working with director Zack Snyder.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Simmons reveals that most of his scenes involved Ben Affleck (who plays Bruce Wayne/Batman). It wasn't revealed whether his character would be interacting with the actual Batman or just Bruce Wayne, but it only makes sense that Gordon would be in the know when it comes to the Caped Crusader. He is, after all, the only cop that Batman seems to trust in Gotham City.

For the majority of Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy, Gordon (Gary Oldman) had no clue who Batman was until the very end. It would definitely be interesting if this Jim Gordon knew Batman's secret identity.

Simmons then goes on to talk about his experience on set, and he has praised Zack Snyder for being someone who runs a "fun" set. Simmons said, "That was a really fun set. Zack [Snyder] runs sort of a big, happy family and it's obviously, in many ways, a very different work environment when you're working on a big, giant movie like that than a relatively small movie like 'The Meddler.' But at the end of the day, the director is the one who sets the tone. And one of the things that Zack and Lorene have in common is that they're just nice, smart, competent, fun people that you don't mind spending a 12-hour day with."

Simmons also talked about the role of Jim Gordon himself, and he says that he won't be in this movie much. "Justice League" basically introduces Jim Gordon to the DC Cinematic Universe, and most of his interactions are with Batman. That doesn't mean, however, that he won't be talking to other members of the Justice League as well.

"Justice League" is scheduled to premiere on Nov. 17, 2017.
