'Justice League' release date, rumors: Member of Green Lantern Corps. to appear in movie?
A lot of DC fans are excited for the release of the Warner Bros. superhero mash-up, "Justice League" which will be coming out in November next year. Rumor has it that the movie will have an appearance from a member of the Green Lantern Corps.
According to The Wrap, a member of the Green Lantern Corp. will be appearing during a key sequence in "Justice League." They also say that Darkseid — basically the DC version of Thanos — will have a large presence in the movie, and that the prologue of the film will have the ancient Amazonians, Atlanteans and pre-historic humans trying to fend him off the Earth.
There has been speculation that the member that will be appearing is a lesser known Lantern, maybe even an alien. After the box-office flop of the "Green Lantern" movie starring Ryan Reynolds, Warner Bros. may just want to step away from casting a new Hal Jordan at the moment.
Back when Zack Snyder teased the first image of Jason Momoa as Aquaman, the post came with the tagline, "Unite the Seven." Since the movie has only teased six heroes in the roster so far (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg), fans have been speculating that the seventh member of the League will be Green Lantern or classic League member Martian Manhunter. The identity of the seventh member is still a mystery
Meanwhile, fans think the main adversary for the movie is going to be Steppenwolf ("Game of Thrones" alum Ciaran Hinds), but since Steppenwolf is more of a subordinate of Darkseid, it's likely that his threat will loom in the background as the League tries to fight Hinds' character.
Fans will likely get the answers to all their questions when "Justice League" hits theaters Nov. 17, 2017. Stay tuned for more updates.
