DC Extended Universe (DCEU) films like "Man of Steel," "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Suicide Squad" may have done well at the box office, however, those films have been torn to pieces by critics who say that they were too dark and depressing. Well, the films do seem gloomy, but some viewers do like it that way. But Warner Bros. has heard all those complaints and they are doing something about it.

In an interview with Cineplex Magazine, Ben Affleck, the actor portraying Batman in the DCEU films, talked briefly about the tonal shift between the previous films and "Justice League."

"It's a little bit lighter, the characters are a little bit more comfortable in themselves, so they can express a wider array of emotions. And there are just more people in it, so it's more fun. It's all of these different characters bumping up against each other and the team dynamic offers a lot of dramatic possibility," he said.

Affleck also talked about the changes that Batman has undergone between "Batman v Superman" and "Justice League." "And he was pretty pissed off in Batman v Superman, but now it's not about finding revenge in Justice League, it's about protecting the Earth. So the feel is different," he stated.

Sounds like Affleck and the rest of the creative team have been consciously lightening up the mood after all the backlash the previous films received. In an interview with Hey U Guys, Affleck also revealed that the film has a feeling of "rebirth" since it featured a lot of changes. So, except the grouchy characters like Batman to lighten up a bit in this film.

Aside from Batman, "Justice League" will also feature the likes of Superman (Henry Cavil), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher). "Game of Thrones" actor Ciarán Hinds will play Steppenwolf, the main antagonist of the film.

"Justice League" is scheduled to premiere on Nov. 17.
