'Justice League' release date and updates: New official photo of Jason Momoa as Aquaman leaked
To promote the extended edition of "Suicide Squad" being released in December, DC Entertainment has launched the ARGUS website which contained supposed files on the meta-humans in the DC Cinematic Universe.
Though the file on the Justice League meta-humans is currently inaccessible, a fan was able to hack the site and grab a new still of Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry aka Aquaman.
The picture was posted on a "Justice League" fan account, and it said the picture came from the ARGUS website. Based on Momoa's outfit, it looked to be from the same scene in the trailer where he smashed a liquor bottle.
In the comics, ARGUS had many different meanings like Armed Revolutionaries Governing Under Secrecy and Anonymous Ranger Group of the United States. The official meaning has now become Advanced Research Group Uniting Superhumans and it is headed by Amanda Waller who fans can remember was Viola Davis' character in "Suicide Squad."
According to the post by the "Suicide Squad" Twitter account, fans will be able to access more of the "files" in the site as the weeks go by. As of now, fans can only open the "Task Force X" folder, but access to the different members' character bios has been denied. There is a "meta-humans" folder on the site, but access to that folder has been denied as well.
All in all, there are nine folders on the site; two have been named, but the rest are still restricted. It's possible that as the weeks trudge by, fans can get more info on the different elements of the DC Cinematic Universe. It's an interesting form of marketing for the DC Universe, and Marvel hasn't even come up with a way to put fans into their world through a platform similar to the ARGUS site.
Perhaps the site will release more info as the release dates for "Wonder Woman" and "Justice League" draw nearer.
"Justice League" is slated for a release on Nov. 17, 2017.
