The revitalized "Jurassic Park" franchise is getting bigger with the impending release of the sequel to Colin Trevorrow's 2015 movie "Jurassic World." This time, the property is taking on a new spin with director J.A. Bayona taking over the camera for the yet-to-be-titled sequel.

The Spanish filmmaker is set to embark on a huge project, not just because its most recent predecessor was a big hit, but most importantly because the franchise is built by a group of cinema people who are regarded as icons in the business led by Steven Spielberg.

"I have always been a huge fan of Steven Spielberg, and I never thought I would end up doing a Jurassic movie. So it's very exciting and a privilege to work with Steven, Frank Marshall and the other producers," Bayona admitted when Birth Movies Death caught up with him while promoting his latest work in "A Monster Calls."

Given that Bayona comes from working mostly on indie-vibe projects, jumping in to a franchise can pose some serious pressure. But "The Impossible" helmer shares that while there is a mountain of tasks in front of him, it really is not just a one-man responsibility. Instead, he gets various inputs from other production game players including Trevorrow who is still an executive producer of the project.

"You know, they've all seen The Orphanage, and the [Jurassic] script has many things in common with the movies I've done so far. The thing is, I also consider this job to be a collaborative filmmakers' effort, you know," the 41-year-old said. "You have Steven, you have Colin, you have Frank, a producer who is also a director, and it's their baby. So I am very much aware that I need to take care of their baby as well as possible."

Despite this, he is adamant on one different thing for his film and that is giving Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) some more practical shoes. It can be remembered that the heroine of "Jurassic World" has been an international online meme when she ran through the course of the tropical park to save her life while wearing nude colored pumps.

The fifth film from the "Jurassic Park" franchise is scheduled for a June 22, 2018 release date. Chris Pratt who plays Owen, Dallas Howard and the rest of the pack will jet-set to Hawaii in early 2017 to commence the movie's production.
