"Jessica Jones" is yet another success for Marvel TV when it debuted on Netflix and fans cannot wait to see more of Jessica (Krysten Ritter) when she comes back next year in "The Defenders." Season 2 is held up until 2018 but showrunner Melissa Rosenberg gave an update on what to expect in the next season of Marvel's favorite alcoholic P.I.

According to Esquire, Rosenberg said that her treatment of the character will be affected by the insights she gained while working on "Dexter."

She said, "I learned from working on 'Dexter' that you can advance the character, but you never want to cure the character. With 'Dexter,' the moment he felt guilt or accepted that he was 'bad,' the show's over. He's no longer a sociopath. The equivalent for us would be if Jessica somehow recovered from the damage that had been done to her."

She also went on to say that a huge chunk of Jessica's character is her trauma and just because Kilgrave (David Tennant) is gone, it doesn't mean that Jessica is ready to let everything go.

As of now, Rosenberg and her group of writers are currently working on the second season, and they're said to be halfway done. With more than a year til 2018, the developers have a lot of time to flesh out Jessica's story. There isn't a single clue on what's to happen to Jessica after the events of "The Defenders."

Although Jessica is already sure to appear in next year's crossover series, some are guessing that she will make a cameo in "Luke Cage," which comes out at the end of the month. Luke (Mike Colter) was initially introduced in the first season of "Jessica Jones" and it would only seem fitting if his solo venture has an appearance from Jessica.

"Jessica Jones" season 2 will most likely arrive in 2018.
