Even Jane's mother, Xiomara "Xo" Villanueva will find herself in a precarious situation when "Jane the Virgin" returns for its third season.

It will be recalled that Xo (Andrea Navedo) broke up with Rogelio dela Vega (Jamie Camil) in season 2 because they wanted different things for their relationship. Rogelio wanted to have more children while Xo, who had Jane (Gina Rodriguez) when she was a teen, wanted to enjoy life minus more babies.

However, sometimes, life pulls the meanest pranks, and in this case, Xo found herself pregnant with Esteban Santiago's (Keller Wortham) baby. The catch? Esteban is Rogelio's arch nemesis. Now, Xo is faced with the dilemma of whether she'll keep the baby or get an abortion.

"We always knew that we wanted Xo to not want to have a baby and then we were trying to figure out how we were going to be ending her story," showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman told The Hollywood Reporter. "If she got pregnant with Rogelio's nemesis, it would be very shocking to her and to the audience and also she doesn't want to have a baby so that's definitely going to be something that we dive into."

One thing's for sure, Rogelio will not be too thrilled with the news. Nevertheless, he really doesn't have a say with Xo's decision, as Urman says, "It's not his decision to make one way or another."

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Cuban-American couple Gloria and Emilio Estefan will guest star in "Jane the Virgin" season 3. They will come to help Rogelio do a Latino telenovela for American viewers. It remains to be seen whether the Estefan coupe and Camil will perform on the show together.

There are speculations that the episode in which Gloria and Emilio will appear is the same episode another Hispanic superstar, Eva Longoria, will be directing. It has been previously revealed that Longoria will direct the third episode of season 3, which is titled "Chapter Forty-Seven."

"Jane the Virgin" season 3 will premiere on Monday, Oct. 17, at 9 p.m. on The CW.
