'Jane the Virgin' season 3 spoilers news: Michael survived
Fans of The CW's "Jane the Virgin" have been anticipating the release date of the show and are happy to find out that season three premieres this October. Reports are saying that the third season will see the return of Michael (Brett Dier) and the possibility of Jane (Gina Rodriguez) getting a new lover.
Rodriguez had posted an Instagram snap of her and Dier, and the latter have reportedly attended table reads for the third season of "Jane the Virgin," which confirms that Michael had survived the shooting that occurred in the previous season. This could be good news for fans of the Michael–Jane tandem, but it is quite possible that Jane will be finding herself a new lover in the upcoming season.
The next season will have Jane reunited with an old crush named Sam (Miles Gaston Villanueva). He is described to be some sort of sexy intellectual, which will mean trouble for Michael, not even counting that Jane used to have feelings for him.
Of course, maybe Dier's appearance doesn't necessarily mean that his character had survived the shooting. The opening scene could have Dier as Michael in his last moments or as a corpse in the morgue. Dier could also be present for some flashbacks, but then again, his death could be too dark for an award-winning comedy show.
Going behind the scenes, it seems that the cast has been having a lot of fun shooting for the upcoming season. Justin Baldoni, who plays Rafael Solano, has been posting some photos of himself and the rest of the cast enjoying each other's company on set.
There's an image of Baldoni and Rodriguez with a bunch of children and a music teacher behind them in a classroom set. He has also posted a picture of one of the cast members of "Desperate Housewives," Eva Longoria, who is going to be an actress/director for the third episode of the season.
"Jane the Virgin" is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
