Michael (Brett Dier) has chosen to go on a new career path, but he may find out soon that he's not cut out for that industry. Meanwhile, Gina Rodriguez prepares for her character's transformation happening soon when the series returns.

Previously on "Jane the Virgin" season 3, Michael quit his job in law enforcement when he did not pass his physical health test to become eligible to return to his work. When the series returns this January, Michael will be trying out a new career.

As seen from the promo for the second half of "Jane the Virgin" season 3, Michael tells his wife Jane (Gina Rodriguez) that he will try to venture into stand-up comedy. Jane initially thought he was joking, but she soon realizes that Michael is being serious.

But it seems that Michael will soon quit that career path too, when later on in the promo, he freezes on stage during his first performance ever. Rogelio (Jaime Camil) and Jane were among the audience, and Rogelio tells a worried Jane, "This is a classic case of stage fright or ... tiny consecutive strokes."

Meanwhile, Jane might be having a big transformation happening in her life soon when "Jane the Virgin" season 3 returns.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Rodriguez previously shared that she will be visiting Thailand to prepare for a big moment in Jane's life. "I'm off to Thailand to train at a muay thai training camp. It's for Jane. There's a transformation that happens in Jane's life, so I'm going to go prepare for it," the actress explained.

No details about the said transformation were given away, but what kind of event will happen in Jane's life that the actress had to undergo Muay Thai training in Thailand for?

"Jane the Virgin" season 3 returns with episode 8 on Monday, Jan. 23, at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
