It is looking like Xo (Andrea Navedo) will finally be one step closer to her dream of becoming a singer in "Jane the Virgin" season 3. The previous seasons haven't been gracious to her, but things will change this year.

According to TVGuide, Xo will get the chance to be a full-fledged singer as she will be granted a chance to audition and impress the judges in the singing competition "The Voice."

Not much is known about this yet, but it appears that Xo might finally get that big break she was always longing for in "Jane the Virgin" season 3.

However, Xo's luck comes at the same heartbreak hits her daughter Jane (Gina Rodriguez), who is still worried about her husband Michael (Brett Dier), who was shot before they can even go to the honeymoon.

"You see her in the lowest of lows," Rodriguez told Entertainment Weekly of her character's state in "Jane the Virgin" season 3, adding that "It's very heavy."

In a new trailer for "Jane the Virgin" season 3, Jane receives horrible news about Michael that made it impossible for her to hold back her tears.

Her husband was then seen in a hospital bed fighting for his life, but Jane is not giving up on him and tells him "This is not the end of our story. Do you hear me, Michael?"

It appears as though Michael could survive. Bustle is under the impression he will. After all, Jane will finally lose her virginity in "Jane the Virgin" season 3 although it is unclear with whom.

Show creator Jennie Snyder Urman told Entertainment Weekly that Jane will swipe her v-card in the first half of the season. It remains a mystery what Michael's condition will be by that time.

However, Urman teased that "Jane the Virgin" season 3 will feature flashbacks that will explore Jane and Michael's love story deeper.

"We are doing some structural things differently. You're going to be learning a lot more history than you knew originally. You'll figure out how the past impacts the present," she said.

"Jane the Virgin" season 3 will premiere on Monday, Oct. 17 on The CW.
