Jane Lynch, Lara Embry Divorce Finalized; 'Glee' Star To Shell Out $1.2 M In Settlement
"Glee" star Jane Lynch and clinic psychologist Dr. Lara Embry are officially divorced, it was announced on Monday.
Reports said property settlements are going to cost Lynch $1.2 million over the next two years.
Lynch filed for divorce from Embry in July 2013 citing irreconcilable differences. On Monday, Oct. 27, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ralph C. Hofer formally approved the couple's divorce.
In line with the settlements, the judge granted Embry half of Lynch's royalties from several entertainment projects such as "Glee," "Two and a Half Men" and "Jimmy Kimmel," which will cost Lynch $1.2 million in the next two years.
However, it seemed Embry is set to receive more than just half the TV royalties, according to the list of property settlements acquired by TMZ.
Embry is also set to receive $847,485 or half of several bank and trust accounts, $315,079 or half of the proceeds from their Mulholland Tennis Club membership which the ex-couple agreed to sell, half of their $56,810 tax refund, sole ownership of the L.A. Yacht club membership and also ownership of the ex-couple's dog, Francis.
Lynch on the other hand, will still get to keep several properties such as the ex-couple's home, a 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid and a 2013 Audi, according to court documents obtained by E! News.
Lynch spoke about the financial aspect of her split with Embry during an interview in August 2013 with Access Hollywood.
Lynch said California "is a half and half state, as well as it should be, so that's fine." She stated that the division of their assets is going well and also explained that the income from her "highest earning years" will be divided with Embry.
"It's just money," she concluded.
Lynch insisted that her divorce was "not a horrible thing," and that she wanted to continue being friends with Embry for the sake of Embry's daughter, Haden.
"It's not dramatic. It's not a horrible thing. It's something that we're dealing with. It's two people who just decided it's better to go apart than stay together."
Lynch and Embry were married at Massachusetts on Memorial Day in 2010. They were together for three years.
