Several weeks after the launching of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus handsets, Apple fans are now entertaining the latest rumors about the revolutionary design of the iPhone 8. The next iteration of Apple's flagship smartphone will be released just in time for the iPhone's 10th anniversary.

The public could expect a whole new iPhone device that no one has ever seen before, and if the rumors are anything to go by, the iPhone 8 may sport a special OLED screen for the first time.

As reported by the BGR, it is possible that one of the plans of the Cupertino-based tech giant next year is to give the iPhone the new OLED display instead of the usual LCD screens. The online publication noted the recent move of Apple that would suggest that their future devices, the iPhone 8 included, will make use of OLED display starting in 2017.

Apple's latest huge deal as shown in their recent Securities and Exchange Commission 10-K filing reveals the huge amount of OLED panels that they have purchased.

A known tech analysts, J.P. Morgan, has claimed that Apple a huge purchase order that goes up to $4 billion, which means that the OLED screens are most likely to stay in the company for a long time, Apple Insider reported. The iPhone 8 is expected start a trend of the upcoming handsets from Apple having OLED display. ,

Rumor has it that the iPhone 8 will be released in three variants instead of the usual two for September 2017. It is possible that the iPhone 8 will still have the base model and the Plus variant, although the third higher-end Plus variant will be the one to sport the OLED display. The base variant is expected to have the 4.7-inch LCD screen with single lens rear camera.

Still, the public is advised to take these rumors with a grain of salt until Apple confirms the details. For now, the launching of the new iPhone 8 handsets are expected aroud September or October 2017, in line with the iPhone release schedules in the previous years.
