The predecessor to the HTC One M9, the M8, was undoubtedly one of the best looking smartphones of 2014. It was frequently ranked ahead of the iPhone 6 in terms of looks. The current flagship phone from HTC, the One M9, has much of the same features, including the latest chipset from Snapdragon, which could make it faster than its competitor.

Design

While the HTC One M9 could easily be mistaken for its predecessor, there is no doubt that HTC put a lot of thought into its design and gave it stunning looks in the form of a full metal body that is hand polished. HTC also experimented with colors when it created the device, with one version having a dual toned finish of rose gold and silver. As for the iPhone 6, it has a premium aluminum body with rounded edges and comes in three colors – silver, gold and space grey.

Display

The display on the iPhone 6 consists of a IPS LCD screen measuring 4.7 inches with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and a density of 326 pixels per inch. The HTC One M9 has a super LCD3 screen measuring 5.0 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 441 pixels per inch.

Specs

On the HTC One M9 is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset which is coupled with a CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz and an Adreno 430 GPU. As for the iPhone 6, it has an Apple A8 chipset, dual-core 1.4 GHz Cyclone CPU and PowerVR GX6450 GPU.

Memory

The iPhone 6 does not have any memory slot, while the version on the HTC One M9 can be used to add up to 128 GB of external memory. As for RAM, the iPhone 6 has 1 GB while the HTC One M9 has 3 GB.

Price

In terms of price, the HTC One M9 could come with a full retail price tag of $649 while the iPhone 6 also costs $649 without a two-year contract.
