iPhone 6 Release Date Rumors: What to Expect From Apple's September 9, 2014 Event
Apple has confirmed that it will be holding a big unveiling event on September 9, 2014, and to most this means that an unveiling and announcement of the iPhone 6 will be made. Ordinarily after an unveiling, Apple schedules an official release date just shortly after the event, and there is likely to be no difference this time around.
However, the iPhone 6 is not the only device likely to be launched at the September 9 event, and there could also possibly be a number of other anticipated devices from Apple, like the much-awaited iWatch, and a larger 5.5" variant of the iPhone 6 model.
If all rumors on the internet are true, this would be the first time that Apple is going to launch a new iPhone model in two different sizes at the same time. Not to mention, this is also the first time that Apple would be releasing an iPhone that passes to be a "Phablet" with its 5.5" variant.
The normal sized iPhone 6 would also get a significant size change from iPhone 5's 4" to a bigger 4.7", which is a great move to fight off the competition currently being experienced by top Android smartphones.
It is expected that stronger Sapphire glass will also be another feature of the new iPhone. This would make for a tougher glass and a more effective way of preventing scratches or even glass shattering in case the phone gets dropped.
Apple has used Sapphire glass with its previous iPhone 5, but in that case it was for the camera cover and not for the screen.
Other features that we could expect Apple to introduce with their new iPhone models would be NFC functionality that is usually included with some top-name Android devices. NFC's main use is focused on making wireless payments. According to theinformation.com Mobile wallet plans and wireless charging is one of the things that you could expect.
