iPad Mini 4 Release Date June-July 2015; Apple iPad Mini, iPad Mini 3 Phaseout Looms
For those who have been eager to replace their iPad Minis, the wait may only take a little while longer – if all the rumors floating around are true.
Rumors have been circulating that the iPad Mini 4 will be released in either June or July, according to PC Advisor.
The tech site predicted the release, which would be earlier than the usual October or November roll out.
This plan for a major launch has also given birth to new rumors that iPad Mini models -- particularly iPad Mini and iPad Mini 3 -- will soon be taken completely off the racks in Apple stores.
If these reports are right, the iPad 4 might be sold for a lower price, especially given the fact that tablet sales are dropping.
The PC Advisor added that since Apple would also probably ensure that with fewer choices of tablets, consumers will be able to afford either the Mini 2 or the new Mini 4.
But News Everyday predicted that the iPad Mini 4 might stick with the $399 base price for Wi-Fi versions and $529 for Wi-Fi + Cellular version.
In terms of specifications of iPad Mini 4, PC Advisor said Apple might slim the new tablet down just like what it did to the iPad Air 2, using a laminated screen.
It could also get the anti-reflective coating, processor upgrade like A8X used in iPad Air 2, coupled with 2G of RAM.
Apple's original iPad mini was a brilliantly designed tablet, but most reviews thought it was let down by a low-resolution screen and outdated internals which were taken from the iPad 2.
While, iPad Mini 2 fixed those problems, iPad Mini 3 merely added a Touch ID sensor and the option of a new color: gold.
