iOS 8 Release Date: Apple Fans Prepare for Download on September 17, 2014 Launch
With the already popular iPhone 6 due to hit the shelves Friday, Apple is about to roll out the latest and most advanced version of their mobile operating system. However, the precise time of the release has not been revealed, as Apple most likely wants to avoid a mass flurry of downloads, which could crash its servers.
According to the latest Apple conference, the iOS 8 is to be launched on September 17 — exactly two days before the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
iPhone users and even non-iPhone users are thrilled to see the changes in the Apple mobile operating system. As for the visuals, one cannot expect a major redesign; just mostly tweaking. The "big change" was done last year with the iOS 7, which as we may remember created a big fuss in the mobile technology industry.
Still, there are tons of new features to play with. The iOS 8 comes with a new Quicktype feature that takes predictive typing to a whole new level. Unlike the standard feature that predicts words for you, it can now distinguish context and recommend whole phrases that users might actually want to use.
Another particularly remarkable change is that Apple has made iCloud storage very much like Dropbox. This allows you to get a hold of your files anywhere just by accessing your drive. This includes all the photos and videos taken on any of your Apple devices.
There are tons of other features that Apple fans will certainly find interesting. Siri has had major improvements, too. The iOS 8 Beta version has been available for download since June 2, 2014. It's just a day away from the actual release of the iOS 8 so you really no longer have to wait that long in order to try these new features.
The following Apple devices can be used to download and run the newest Apple mobile operating system: iPad Mini, iPad Air, iPad with Retina Display, iPod Touch 5th generation, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S.
