iOS 10 jailbreak release date update: Software being prepared for launch as Apple launches OS

The iOS 10 is set for rollout today, but there's no sign of the jailbreak just yet. However, Italian hacker Luca Todesco has once again proved jailbreaking it is possible.

On his iPad Pro, the developer installed Cydia without a hitch. He also used a yaluX jailbreak app, showing that the iOS 10, despite being the landmark mobile operating system, is still vulnerable to jailbreaks.

It is unknown if Todesco will make his jailbreak software public. In the past, the hacker chose to keep them classified so this may be the case for his iOS 10 jailbreak.

For a public release, jailbreak fans can turn to China-based jailbreak development team Pangu, who has been working on the iOS 10 jailbreak for months.

Pangu has shown a bit of their progress back in July at Mobile Security Conference (MOSEC) in Shanghai. There, they showed Cydia working without problems.

It is even recognized by the Siri App Suggestions Widget as a frequently used application. This is the result of the efforts of Pangu, who has been hard at work at the iOS 10 jailbreak way before they made it official at the said event.

It looks like it is what kept them busy since prior to the announcement of the jailbreak software, there were no other working jailbreak tools for earlier versions of the iOS released by the team.

Pangu is yet to specify a release date for iOS 10 jailbreak and it is likely that, if things are going smoothly, they are already preparing for the big launch of the software.

Apple has done major efforts to combat jailbreaking, but as it does, this only motivates jailbreak developers to take things up a notch.

However, jailbreak fans were legitimately worried when no jailbreak tools were released for months. It was even believed that jailbreak is no longer possible. This might not be the case after all with the iOS 10 jailbreak releasing anytime now.
