Months have passed since long-operating hacking group Pangu has released a jailbreaking tool for iOS users. With Apple upping the game in terms of their security as well as the fast turnaround for software updates, many fans are wondering if jailbreaking is slowly becoming a thing of the past.

Tool users have recently relied on the recently released iOS 10 jailbreak tool. This is despite it still being in a beta version, which explains a lot about its bugs and instability. The beta 4 incantation, which is originally designed for developers came with Substrate and is also semi-untethered, Needless to say, those who are left with no choice opted to take in the plunge even if they need to re-jailbreak every single time the device is being rebooted. Unfortunately, even with settling with the Italian hacker's project, Todesco does not seem to have the intention of continuing his work for iOS 10.2. He was adamant that Apple made sure to cover all their bases in terms of the possibility of hacking the update making it difficult if not impossible for him to crack.

Another jailbreak maker, however, in Stefan Esser sounds more confident about the release of a jailbreak for Apple's latest software update. The security expert boldly tweeted that an iOS 10.2 jailbreak is "coming soon" although he reiterated that he is not personally involved in the process. The aforementioned statement made by the CEO of Antid0te and Founder of SektionEins' own Twitter, and was picked up by 1 Red Drop, dates to Dec. 21 last year. Up until now, unfortunately, no additional information regarding his tease has been made public.

If anyone or any organization, however, has its hands on the iOS 10.2 jailbreak, it is best that it speeds up the process as Apple is already gearing for another software update. And this time, it is tipped that they have upped the ante in performance and improvement which could be an indication of the security the company has outfitted it. The official beta version of iOS 10.3 is rumored to start seeding on Jan. 10.
