'Injustice 2' release date, news, rumors: Sequel to include co-op gameplay, online modes; more DC superheroes joining roster
Even though NetherRealm Studio has released a few teasers regarding the much-awaited fighting video game sequel "Injustice 2," the fans know only a little regarding the changes to be expected by the gamers from the first "Injustice" game title. Fortunately, more details were revealed recently regarding the additional contents and a few revisions for "Injustice 2."
In a very rare opportunity, Game Reactor was able to interview Warner Brother's Marketing Game Manager, Brian Goodman, regarding the new contents of "Injustice 2." In this interview, it was revealed that the "Injustice" sequel will be featuring multiplayer co-op, as well as branching storylines to connect all story modes of the game.
Some players are hoping that there will be some improvements in the story modes of the first "Injustice" video game. Fortunately, it seems like some big changes are to be expected in the gameplay structure.
"Stucture-wise, it's going to be a little bit different," said Goodman. "There's going to be definitely an opportunity to go through the story mode, and we're definitely going to leave them wanting to go through it perhaps a second time," Goodman added.
"We're going to have a number of single-player modes; we're really trying to round out our offerings for people who enjoy our games as single players. Of course, a whole suite of online modes as well, both competitive and potentially some co-operative modes as well."
On the other hand, Yibada reported that the popular DC superheroes such as The Flash and Black Canary are already confirmed to be in the roster of "Injustice 2." In fact, Barry Allen's actor himself in CW's "The Flash," Grant Gustin, confirmed that he will be voicing the super speedster in the video game. Also, "Arrow" cast member Katie Cassidy has recently posted a photo of her wearing a motion capture helmet, which could mean that she is already filming some scenes in the video game as Black Canary.
"Injustice 2" is set to be released in the early months of 2017 in PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. As of now, there is no confirmed exact date of the game's release.
