Indiana Pacers team news: Pacers looking to surprise fans this season
If one pre-season game is any indication, then the Indiana Pacers is looking like a team ready to make a big splash in the league.
While it is true that the pre-season games simply consist of training and scrimmages, the Pacers put on a good display when they defeated the New Orleans Pelicans.
Playing in New Orleans, the Pacers dictated the pace en route to a 113-96 victory but it showed just how serious the Pacers were heading into the season.
Fan Sided reported that it was definitely a good show for the Pacers and fans should be hopeful that they will be playing each regular season game the way they did at this pre-season match-up.
An example is Thaddeus Young who had a great game after securing a double-double in the contest. Young, who came in during the summer, recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds while playing his first game with the team.
Furthermore, star player Paul George was so confident with his teammates that he thinks they can replicate the same performance every night.
Talking to The Indianopolis Star, George also mentioned how free the game was.
He said: "Everything was just free flow and we're still trying to figure that out. We've been so used to a set or calling of plays and now we're getting that freedom. I think that's going to take some time, but once we get it, we could easily be a 115-point team a night."
More importantly, the new players immediately felt at home with the team and the offense clicked. The chemistry among them looked like an all-time high, with point guard Jeff Teague pushing the tempo for the new look of the Pacers.
While the team is still a work in progress, things are looking good for Indiana fans and this may be a great season where they break out.
