Houston Rockets trade rumors: Rockets join in Noel sweepstakes
Looking for a big man to help complete the squad, the Houston Rockets are reportedly looking at an Eastern Conference team who are offloading one of their centers.
According to rumors, the Philadelphia 76ers' center Nerlens Noel is a target of the Rockets.
Reports say that a deal may be in place, and three teams are going to be involved, with the Phoenix Suns as the third wheel to make this trade possible.
The Sixers remain as one of the most talked-about teams in the summer as they are trying to offload one of their three big centers, one among Jahlil Okafor, Joel Embiid, and Noel.
Having three young centers on the team may be a good problem, but it is something that is hampering the team's progression as well as the players' development.
Furthermore, it is also creating issues with the team chemistry as there are three towering big men with all the talent but are not being put to good use.
As a result, the Sixers are trying to shop one of their assets.
According to reports, the deal may be in the works which stipulates that Noel joins the Rockets, while the Sixers get Brandon Knight of the Suns and Phoenix picks up two players and draft picks.
For Houston, this may certainly work out as they have players in different positions but do not have a strong center.
With the departure of Dwight Howard, the Rockets are looking to fill the void he left in the middle, and if the Rockets find a way to make this trade happen, they will be a complete team and one who can surprise many in the Western Conference.
As for the Sixers, getting Knight is also good as they do not weaken significantly with the departure of Noel, while they get a guard who can do multiple things on the court.
Finally, Phoenix may get young assets for the trade and draft picks that may come in handy in the future.
