'Homeland' season 6 release date, plot spoilers: Rupert Friend will be starring in the upcoming season
Peter Quinn's (Rupert Friend) fate has been left unsure after the season five finale of "Homeland," but set photos of Friend have come up, and Peter Quinn's tired and disheveled look has become a topic of much speculation from "Homeland" fans.
Just Jared reports that the crew of "Homeland" is currently shooting in New York City, and numerous pictures of Quinn's new look have been posted online. Alex Gansa, showrunner of "Homeland," told reporters at the Television Critics Association that, "Quinn is alive — I can say that much. But we want to be really careful about revealing what his condition is,"
Gansa also says that Quinn has become a changed person after he suffered a stroke. He also says that Quinn represents a "very profound and familiar casualty of the war on terror." Gansa also teased that this upcoming season will have Quinn going through a lot of things that are different from last year.
Claire Danes has also had photos of her from the set of "Homeland" come up online, thanks to Hollywood Life. Danes character Carrie Mathison is said to be sporting a more stressed look herself as a result of the events surrounding Peter Quinn whom she almost pulled off life support.
The season 5 finale also had Carrie stopping a terrorist attack and being left by her boyfriend. Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) has also asked her to return to the CIA while her boss gave her a proposal.
Season 6 will have Carrie taking on a lot of things with all the issues set up for her last season. Showrunner Gansa also gives viewers an idea of what to expect in the upcoming season. He says, "The series is going to have a different feel this year, and it does every year, which is one of its strengths."
"Homeland" season 6 is set to premiere on Jan. 15 of next year.
