'Hawaii Five-0' season 7 episode 9 spoilers: Five-0 to uncover truth behind JFK assassination case?

The next episode of "Hawaii Five-0" promises to put Five-0's resident conspiracy theorist in the thick of things as it tackles a case that brings them back in time to one of history's most famous unsolved mysteries: the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

The trailer for this week's episode shows Jerry Ortega (Jorge Garcia) witnessing the death of a fellow theorist who has allegedly solved the Kennedy assassination. Will this experience send him spiraling down the worst case of paranoia he and his friends will have to contend with? Or will this serve as motivation for him to bring out his A-game and assist Hawaii's elite Five-0 task force in putting the long unresolved case to rest?

The 35th president of the United States was shot dead in Dealey Plaza more than five decades ago on Nov. 22, 1963, on broad daylight. And one of the most compelling details about the incident was the image of a mysterious woman in the crowd now known as the Babushka Lady, who was believed to have been close enough to the late president's motorcade to have filmed invaluable footage of the assassination. The woman, along with the alleged film was never heard from again. That is, until a woman named Beverly Oliver came forward in 1970 with claims that she was the Babushka Lady and that the footage she took had been confiscated by the FBI.

These claims have never been confirmed, but these along with other allegedly missing images from the scene has for a long time driven many conspiracy theorists to believe that JFK's assassination was a planned hit later on covered up by the government.

This seems to be the angle that "Hawaii Five-0" is going for based on the official press release for the episode titled, "Elua lā ma Nowemapa" ("Two Days in November"). It states that the late JFK's cabinet may have ordered the hit, and that Jerry's friend, Susie Freeling (Katie Malia), had compelling evidence against them.

Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) and his team will be facing the FBI, who swoops in to take over the case. But whether the government is attempting another cover-up or Susie was involved in an entirely different case, will definitely send Five-0 digging into the matter until they get to the bottom of it, even if it ultimately puts them in the FBI's bad graces.
