'Hawaii Five-0' season 7 air date news, spoilers: Five-0 to take down Mexican cartel to save Chin?
Chin Ho's (Daniel Dae Kim) decision to hand himself over to the Mexican cartel in exchange for his niece has left viewers of "Hawaii Five-0" fearing for his life. However, the show will not be leaving its fans out in the cold for too long when it returns for the second half of season 7.
In the explosive midseason premiere titled "Ka 'aelike (The Deal)," Steve (Alex O'Loughlin) and his team will be doing everything there is in their power to track the cartel's whereabouts and save Chin from being executed as an act of revenge against the Five-0 Task Force. Will they make it on time? And if and when they do, how will this incident change Chin's impression of Sara's (Londyn Silzer) aunt and uncle, with whom he had initially been suspicious of?
Will he finally be comfortable about leaving his niece in Mexico, after becoming aware of the dangers he might bring to the child? Or will this, along with the cartel's continued presence in Mexico, only make him decide to take his niece back home to Hawaii?
The Mexican cartel was after Five-0, but what about the enemies that Sara's late father, Gabriel (Christopher Sean), had made? Do they also pose a danger to the child's life?
It seems that Chin and Sara's story will not end with the cartel as the stakes will just keep on getting higher. In an interview with TV Line, actor Kim shared that season 7's theme will be all about the dangers their job poses, not just on themselves, but on their loved ones as well.
"When it's emotionally driven, it helps the audience understand the stakes — and the cost — of the characters' actions," Kim said.
The upcoming episode will also feature Grover (Chi McBride) posing as a car salesman on an undercover mission. But when the murder that he has meant to investigate turns to be a far more complex and dangerous case, will Five-0 have to undertake another rescue mission to help him out?
"Hawaii Five-0" season 7 will return on Friday, Jan. 6, at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
