Fans have been clamoring for a sequel to "Half-Life 2" for so long that it has become a popular internet joke. A recent code leak, however, has lead people to suspect that a "Half-Life VR" game may be in the works.

Several months ago, a channel on Youtube called Valve News Network reported on the possibility of a Virtual Reality "Half-Life" game, but all of his predictions were proven false by the developers from Valve, saying that the code he found was merely for tests on the software.

VNN still wasn't convinced, however, and he has posted another video speculating about "Half-Life VR." Take note that the developers have gone out to say that "Half-Life 3" will not be in VR, so whatever game is being developed, fans suspect that it could either be "Half-Life" or "Half-Life 2."

Back in 2015, one of the developers Jeep Barnett talked with Kotaku about the possibility of a "Half-Life" game in VR, and he said, "We're not saying, 'no,' but we don't know what the right thing is [yet]. Our most precious resource is time, and we don't have enough time for people to do everything. Would we like to make all of our franchises in VR? Absolutely. But we don't have enough time or people."

Based on the code that VNN was able to single out, he said that it "forces the user to speak" during the game. The lead character of the franchise, Gordon Freeman, doesn't do any speaking at all, so he guessed that "Half-Life VR" will be some sort of side story that will have a whole new character take center stage from this point.

"Half-Life VR" has not been officially announced by Valve, but a lot are already betting that the game is in development, and it will be announced soon.
