'GTA 6' release date rumors: Rockstar Games to launch title in 2018
It's been more than three years since Rockstar Games released the latest title of one of its most successful franchises, "Grand Theft Auto" ("GTA"). Although the video game developers have yet to tease the alleged installment of the game, various rumors have been making their rounds on the internet.
Rumor has it that Rockstar Games has been busy with other projects; hence, it has yet to reveal or announce the development of "Grand Theft Auto 6." On the other hand, iDigitalTimes speculated that for a massive studio such as Rockstar Games, development of one title will not affect the progress of another.
According to the news outlet, two separate development teams are working on "Red Dead Redemption 2" and "Grand Theft Auto 6." The publication claimed that Rockstar North is in the initial stages of planning for the upcoming "GTA" title, whereas Rockstar San Diego is now in the later stages of development for "RDR2."
On the other hand, the present title in the franchise ,"GTA 5," is still as popular as ever, despite being three years old. Reports said that the developers might add further expansions and updates to the current title before proceeding with a new game.
Though nothing is certain at the moment, "GTA 6" will reportedly feature a female lead. In addition, there are rumors suggesting that the upcoming game will be set outside the U.S.
To note, "GTA 4" was unveiled in 2008, and it took the company five years to launch the present title "GTA 5" in 2013. Video games usually take a couple of years to develop. If the developers stick to their timetable, players might see the latest title in 2016.
Since the latest rumors have yet to be confirmed by Rockstar Games, anxious fans should treat the latest reports as speculation until proven otherwise. Watch out for more updates on "Grand Theft Auto 6."
