'Grimm' season 6 episode 2 spoilers: Renard vs. Renard? Future mayor apparently apprehended
After an intense and fast-paced "Grimm" season 6 opener that launched the final season of the supernatural drama, fans now move forward to episode 2, "Trust Me Knot."
This episode will witness a battle that fans have not thought is possible — Renard (Sasha Roiz) versus another Renard. The second one is Nick (David Giuntoli) guising as his enemy.
It looks like the group's latest plan is to turn Nick into Renard. The promo for "Grimm" season 6, episode 2 promo teases that the two will go head to head.
"There's only room for one of me in this city," the real Renard tells Nick, who retorted, "If I shoot you, will it be considered suicide?" Nick appears to be intent on killing Renard once and for all to end his reign.
In the promotional photos for "Grimm" season 6, episode 2, Hank (Russell Hornsby) and Wu (Reggie Lee) are seen escorting Renard to the precinct.
It is unclear if this is Nick in disguise and is part of their plan teased in the synopsis for the episode. "Hank and Wu discover a way to stop Renard," the first part of the description reads.
This could mean that the two may have finally apprehended Renard although it does not look like they will have the upper hand for long anyway.
In fact, worse things are yet to come. "If you think Nick has suffered before, he has never suffered like this. He has never suffered loss of this scale. It goes nuclear," showrunner David Greenwalt told IGN.
His co-showrunner, Jim Kouf, added, "We burned all the bridges. We took this city to the ground. This is a full-on bombing campaign."
Meanwhile, "Grimm" season 6, episode 2 will also see Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) witness the power of Adalind's (Claire Coffee) daughter, Diana (Hannah R. Lloyd).
The episode will also see Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) and Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) attempt to uncover the mystery of the healing stick and the cloth.
"Grimm" season 6, episode 2, "Trust Me Knot," airs Friday, Jan. 13, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
