'Gotham' season 3 episode 5: Will Penguin's Gotham be a madder Gotham?
The villains are continuously moving to take over Gotham and now that Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) is mayor, madness may become even more rampant in the city.
It does not help at all that the city's sworn protector, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), is gradually getting consumed by his own personal issues and is still not showing signs of wanting to take up his Gotham City Police Department (GCPD) badge.
But while Penguin is conscious enough to put up a reputable facade by striving to fulfill the promises he made to the people of Gotham, his accomplices may not be so discreet. In the preview for next week's episode titled, "Anything for You," a vengeful Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) goes back to the GCPD to show off his newfound power as the city mayor's most trusted friend and advisor.
Butch (Drew Powell) finds his own dark path to thread with a group who calls themselves the Red Hood Gang.
The brief synopsis on TV Guide also mentions the real Bruce's (David Mazouz) quest to find Ivy (Maggie Geha). It will be interesting to see how Bruce and Selina (Camren Bicondova) react to their friend's more mature appearance after just days of not seeing her. Is she going to cause a rift on Bruce and Selina's already unstable relationship?
The mystery behind Bruce's doppelganger was also revealed in this week's episode of Gotham. The Court of Owls was behind his existence all along.
Now that the fake Bruce is in their custody, will he become the person that he's always been intended for — a pawn in the Court's grand plan — or will the brief encounter he had with the real Bruce and Selina serve as a reminder of his humanity?
During the final scene of this week's episode, a drop of Alice's blood accidentally dropped into Capt. Barnes' (Michael Chiklis) eye and seemed to have affected him in extraordinary ways. How will Alice's blood affect one of GCPD's few good men?
