Nexus 6 and 8 Release Date Rumors: October or November 2014 Most Likely
Google will look to compete with Apple's new models of iPhones and iPads when they are released later this year. Google is not just intent on releasing a single model to pit against the competition though, and speculation insists they will be introducing variants of the Nexus 6 and the high-powered Nexus 8.
In a recent report from phonearena.com, it would certainly seem that Google and Motorola are teaming up on developing two models of handsets, which could be different versions of the rumored Nexus 6.
The first one will be your typical 5.2" phone and will probably be called Nexus X. The other one would be a bigger 5.9" smartphone, which doesn't have an official name yet. Rumors are calling it the Moto S in the mean time. This could possibly be the rumored Nexus 6. It is speculated that this would be Google's ace in competing with Apple's speculated 5.5" iPhone 6.
According to a report from TK Tech News, this handset will be a powerhouse, featuring a 2.7GHz Quad-core processor, 3 GB or RAM and a 13-megapixel snapper. TK Tech News also stated in the same report that the Nexus 6 price will start around $500, more or less. This high-end price would, however, be justified by the crazy amount of storage it can offer, starting at 64 GB. The latest Android L might also be thrown in the mix.
The rumored Google tablet called the Nexus 8 might also be powered by the same Android L operating system. This tablet will also pack some serious punch with its 64-bit ARM Processor with Nvidia's 2.5 GHz Tegra K1 CPU.
Google Nexus 6 or Nexus X is expected to be released in October or November this year and the high-end Google tablet, Nexus 8 or even Nexus 9 is expected to follow shortly after the release of the phone, or it might be released at the same time.
