'Glee' Finale Plot Spoilers, News: Ends Series with a Tribute to Late Cory Monteith
Glee, the hit musical series, has been scheduled to take its final bow on March 20 episode, which will pay tribute to Cory Monteith who tragically died in 2013.
MTV said Glee's final episode will be called "2009," which was actually the same year that the show about outcasts, misfits, losers, geeks, and underdogs was first broadcast over Fox.
Creator Ryan Murphy admitted he had always imagined "Glee" to end with a major Finn story, inspirng him to do a flash back six years ago in order to honor both the character and the life of the actor who played him.
"The final year of the show... was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn's story. I always knew that, I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was, he was in it," Murphy said, according to MTV.
"I knew what the last line was, she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we're figuring that out now," Murphy added in 2013.
The two-hour finale will fill in the backstories of the rest of the members of New Directions show choir as we see what life was like for them before their first meeting in the choir room.
Get your tissues ready as the emotional episode will feature Lea Michele singing her very last song on the series called "This Time," which was written by her fellow New Directioner Darren Criss.
Apparently, Michele fell to her knees and cried while shooting the finale. We can't say we blame her.
"That was the day I fell to my knees and cried. I literally had to call my mother to come. It was the most special day. I got to say everything to everyone here and everyone who will watch it that I wanted to say, but you can't think of the words, and he wrote them," Michelle said, according to the Entertainment Weekly.
