Game publisher 2K Games has just released the official Gamescom 2016 video teaser titled "The Heist" for its crime-themed open-world game called "Mafia 3." The third iteration of Hangar 13's "Mafia" series gives fans a glimpse of one of the heists with a generous offering of shooting scenes and cash.

"The Mafia took so much from so many in its rise to power in New Bordeaux. When Lincoln Clay came back from Vietnam, his family was all he had. One night would change it all," reads the official trailer synopsis.

"The Heist" sneak flick is a walk down memory lane with the array of guns, alarms, hairstyles, sideburns and stacks of cash reminiscent of the '60s. The atmosphere of the tumultuous decade is present including mob-style betrayals. The game is set in New Bordeaux–the rough equivalent of New Orleans–where protagonist Lincoln Clay teams up with a friend to execute a daring robbery of the Federal Reserve.

Unfortunately, the Italian mafia he was working with double-crossed his team which furiously drove him to exact a bloody revenge on the mob. Fortunately for Clay, Vito Scaletta makes a return in the third title of the series to join Clay's vindictive quest. The former "Mafia 2" main character heads to New Bordeaux in another "Mafia 3" trailer titled "The Throwback."

"He's seen it all, rising through the mob ranks. Sent down to New Bordeaux by the commission from Empire Bay, he's a man shaken by his past. He's a man bound by loyalty even as he's pushed to the brink. What will finally make him rise up against Italian Mafia he's served for so long? Lincoln Clay – and revenge," the synopsis of "The Throwback" video teaser reads as mentioned in a report by UPI.

Meanwhile, another "Mafia 3" trailer called "City Districts" features the mob-oriented game's 10 districts in New Bordeaux where violence is rife. The trailer resembles an intelligence report that looks into Clay's successful exploits that brought down the mob, Game Spot reported.

"Mafia 3" is slated for an Oct. 7 launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
