'Game of Thrones' Xbox One Game Bug, Problems News: Patch to Resolve Issues Coming Soon
Avid players of the "Game of Thrones" video game need to wait for more than a week before a patch that is said to fix a bug arrives on consoles, Telltale Games has confirmed.
Without responding to requests for comment from the press, the game developer clarified that a patch to fix a bug has already been sent to Microsoft.
"We have submitted a patch to Microsoft to resolve the issue some customers have experienced where Episode One choices did not carry over into Episode Two," Telltale Games said in its forum, according to Gamespot.
"We expect the patch to be released in the next seven to 10 days and will update this thread as soon as it is available. We really appreciate everyone's patience and hope to have you playing with your choices very soon," it added.
The developer wrote the statement after a spate of save data problems was discovered on the Xbox One edition of "Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series."
A number of gamers reported a save data problem, wherein decisions made in Episode One were not carried over to Episode Two.
Some affected players can still proceed with the game but only with default decisions made from the previous episode.
There are many possible reasons for the issue, the developer said. Telltale's support forums show that Xbox One players are specifically affected.
Gamespot reported that the problem does not appear to be prevalent in other platforms, such as PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
"Game of Thrones," the episodic point-and-click graphic adventure fantasy drama video game based on the "A Song of Fire And Ice" fantasy novels from George R.R. Martin, is the latest high-profile narrative from Telltale Games.
The game was released in December 2014 following Telltale Games' acclaimed series such as "The Wolf Among Us," "The Walking Dead" and "Tales from the Borderlands," where player choices and actions influence later events across a six-episode arc.
The story in the "Game of Thrones" revolves around the northern House Forrester, rulers of the Ironwood, whose members, including the five playable characters, attempt to save their family and themselves after ending up on the losing side of the War of the Five Kings.
The game includes settings, characters and voice actors from the novels and TV series, reviews of which have been fairly positive so far.
